Solium Fatalis (Latin for Dead/Fated Throne) was inaugurated by Jim Gregory in 2012 as a simple project to release his vision of extreme metal to the world. The music is primarily based upon his experiences as a veteran of his military service as well as various accounts of humanity and atrocities witness while traversing the multitude of countries he has visited.
The self-titled Solium Fatalis was released in 2013 which featured Dirk Verbeuren (Soilwork) on drums as well as Loic Colin (Scarve) on bass with production duties handled by legendary producer Fredrik Nordstrom (At the Gates, Dimmu Borgir).
Featuring jaw dropping artwork by Seth Siro Anton (Septic Flesh, Exodus, Paradise Lost) the album was a frantic statement of aggression and brutality. In 2015 Solium Fatalis returns with "The Undying Season" the brutal 9 track follow-up that features Flo Mounier (Cryptopsy) on drums Olivier Pinard (Cryptopsy, Neuraxis) on bass as well as the addition of Ehren Hill (Excrecor) on guitars and the return of Jeff DeMarco (Excrecor) on vocals and Jim Gregory on guitars.
Mixed and Mastered at The Grid by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy, The Agonist, Neuraxis) The album features a refined blend of blackened melodic-death metal and further expands on the vision originally spawned in 2012. The album features guest guitar solos by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy) as well as Toby Knapp of Onward and a remarkable piano solo by Ludovick Daoust.
In November 2016, the band's third album "Neuronic Saw” was released through Wicked Music Records, this time featuring former Suffocation and Dying Fetus drummer Kevin Talley behind the kit. Completion of the record was followed by solidification of a live lineup, including drummer Jeff Saltzman (Aversed) and Ryan Beevers (Unflesh) on guitar. Solium Fatalis pushed forward into 2017 with a fourth album on the way and tour dates down the U.S. coast.
